VERTEBRATE CENSUS

Imagine spending your Saturday and Sunday mornings walking along the Arcade Creek looking for some of Sacramento's most exotic birds.

The Vertebrate Census Study of the Arcade Creek Project focuses on collecting data of the vertebrates (birds and other small animals) that are found along the creek. Keeping track of the species that are found along the creek helps to indicate its health and the way in which we can work to improve its condition. The Vertebrates team collects written data, which is later used for analysis. Tracks and scat are recorded to allow for proper analysis of the presence of creatures along the creek. If this sounds like fun to you, then you just might be a "Vertebrate".
